Police Launch Probe into Viral Video of Alleged Child Cult Initiation In Anambra (Video)

The Anambra State Police Command has commenced a full-scale investigation into a viral video showing young boys reportedly initiating a minor into what appears to be a cult group.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that an initial assessment of the footage indicates the incident likely occurred in a community within the state. He described the acts depicted as criminal and a severe violation of child protection laws and public decency.
According to Ikenga, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has directed a joint operation involving the Anti-Cultism Squad, Juvenile Welfare Unit, and State Intelligence Department. The teams have been tasked with verifying the source of the video, securing the safety of the minor involved, and arresting all culprits connected to the act.
The Commissioner strongly denounced any form of indoctrination, abuse, intimidation, or forced recruitment of minors, warning that such offences will attract swift and decisive action.
