HYBE and chairman Bang Si-hyuk have been accused of being involved in a religious cult amid feud with ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. HYBE had now responded to the speculations.
In the days following ADOR CEO’s Min Hee-jin’s press conference, rumors about HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk and the label’s involvement in an organization believed to be a cult have taking the internet by storm. The organization in question, Dahn World, was founded by Lee Seung-heon. While Lee Seung-heun dubs himself as an ‘author and educator who helps people use the full potential of the brain,’ the founder of Dahn World is often referred to as a cult leader and a classic ‘charismatic con man.’
So, how is HYBE related to Lee Seung-heon? Well, Lee Seung-heon is the founder and president of Global Cyber University, the same university six BTS members attended and promoted in the past. However, it is important to note that a number of K-Pop idols have graduated from GCU as the university has a simple admission process and virtual degree completion.
Aside from BTS, fans found ‘evidence’ that links TXT, GFRIEND, NewJeans and LE SSERAFIM to the religious cult. As per reports, Dahn World promotes the idea that man and God are one, and followers worship Mago the goddess of the universe. Mago was the final title track of HYBE’s now disbanded girl group GFRIEND, which was released under a ‘modern witch’ concept. Many believe that GFRIEND ending with a witch concept and LE SSERAFIM debuting a day after Walpurgis Night (April 30 to May 1) with a name referring to Old Testament angels is no coincidence. LE SSERAFIM’s concept content has also come under question.
