Cult war rages in Rivers

The Ahoada Police Division of the Rivers State Police Command, on Sunday, foiled a supremacy battle between Iceland and Greenland cult groups in Udebu community, Ahoada East Local Government Area of the State.

Community sources told Daily Sun that members of the cult groups had mobilised to engage in a supremacy battle in the community at about 5pm when they were intercepted by the policemen, who were acting on a tip off.One of the sources, who gave his name as Michael Odeyi, disclosed that one Mr. Bright and two other suspected cultists were fatally wounded by the police in exchange of gunfire with the hoodlums. He  disclosed that a notorious cultist, popularly known as ‘General’, was among the suspects gunned down. He added that Ikechukwu Uturu, aka Old School, and others escaped with bullet wounds.The source said items recovered from them by police were one locally fabricated G-3 rifle, a locally fabricated pistol which uses AK 47 ammunition, charms and other dangerous weapons.Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, has confirmed that three suspected cultists were fatally wounded by the police in Udebu community in exchange of gunfire.
