According to legal circles on the 11th, the 27th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Judge Woo In-sung presiding) approved the suspension request filed by Han’s side.
The court decided to suspend her detention from 10 a.m. on the 12th to 2 p.m. on the 21st. Her residence is restricted to the hospital where she is receiving treatment. During the suspension period, contact is permitted only with medical staff and lawyers, with a condition that she must not directly or indirectly contact or communicate with witnesses related to the case.
Earlier, Han’s side requested on the 4th that she be tried without detention due to deteriorating health. Han did not attend the trial that day, submitting a reason for non-attendance. Her side argued, “After three fall accidents, her whole-body pain has worsened, making treatment in detention difficult, necessitating hospitalization or dedicated nursing.”
Han’s side revealed that medical staff had assessed her condition as “unmanageable within the detention center and life-threatening” due to fall risks and cardiovascular shock. They also cited opinions from neurology and internal medicine specialists stating, “Given her anticoagulant medication, a fall could directly lead to cerebral hemorrhage, and continued detention might result in irreversible consequences.”
