Producer Cho Sung-hyun of “I’m God,” who caused a big stir with the reality of a cult incident that shook Korean society, points to an event that should be remembered once again through the season.

Producer Cho Sung-hyun, director of the Netflix documentary “I’m God,” appeared and interviewed MBC Radio’s standard FM “Kim Jong-bae’s Attention,” which aired on the 8th.

Season 2 of “I’m God” and “I’m a Survivor” are set to be released worldwide on the 15th. Host Kim Jong-bae said, “You’ve told me several times on our show that you’re going to make a follow-up, but it’s finally over. Are you feeling easy?” he asked.

In response, PD Cho Sung-hyun drew attention by saying, “Honestly, I’m very relieved,” but “I can’t tell you for sure because it hasn’t been confirmed yet.”
On the 29th of last month, the Christian Gospel Mission (JMS) applied for a provisional injunction against broadcasting to the Seoul Western District Court, asking the Seoul Western District Court to prevent the disclosure of “I’m a Survivor.”

Producer Cho Sung-hyun said, “The 12th is the anniversary. I think the court’s judgment will come out around the 14th,” he explained.

“I’m God,” released in 2023, made a big splash in society by covering the stories of Jeong Myung-seok, Park Soon-ja, Oh Dae-yang, Kim Ki-soon, and Lee Jae-rok of Manmin Central Church (JMS).

Producer Cho Sung-hyun said, “There were a lot of meaningful things last season.” “More than half of JMS believers withdrew, and Chung Myung-seok was eventually sentenced to prison,” he said.

“The most meaningful and celebratory thing is related to Maple’s recent status. Maple got married, got pregnant not long ago. It’s all the more good news that I’m pregnant with my daughter. When he said he was happy, I was also very happy,” he said, rejoicing over the happiness of Maple, who was a victim of JMS.

Regarding the reason why the title of season 2 is “I’m a Survivor,” PD Cho Sung-hyun said, “It’s a story related to Maple. We thought Maple was a victim of sexual violence, but the attack on Maple began. It was like, “It’s your fault, too.” However, from the PD’s point of view, this was not just a victim, but a survivor who fought to the end and sent the leader to prison. “I thought I picked the wrong title for season 1, and I thought I should call it exactly ‘Survivor’,” he explained.
