THE trials of Doomsday husband and wife Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow face some stark differences that could have major consequences.
Chad started his trial for the 2019 murders of his ex-wife Tammy Daybell and Lori’s two children on April 1.
Investigators found the body of the ex-wife of the self-published author, who wrote over two dozen books about doomsday and near-death events, inside his home on October 19, 2019.
Chad’s trial comes a year after Lori was found guilty on all charges and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Her trial was set to start in 2022 but later began in April 2023 and ended in May 2023, according to East Idaho News.
Lori was charged with the murder of her two children, 16-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old JJ Vallow, conspiracy to commit murder in her children’s and Tammy’s death, and Social Security payment theft.
Chad is currently on trial for conspiracy to murder and the first-degree murder of JJ, Tylee, and Tammy, including two charges of life insurance fraud.
The main difference between these two trials is that Chad could potentially face the death penalty.
Lori’s trial was not given the option to face the death penalty due to a judge’s ruling.
