One die as rival cult groups clash in Delta communities

There’s palpable tension in Aladja community, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, as one person was killed in a rival cult clash in the early hours of Monday in Iyeghe/Ighwre Quarters.
The clash, involving the Aiye and Vikings confraternities, has been ongoing in the community since Friday.
It is not clear whether the deceased was a member of any of the cult groups.
The body of the deceased is still lying lifeless along the road, as the police have not yet arrived at the scene to evacuate the corpse.
Our correspondent, who was on the ground, reports that soldiers on guard duty at the entrance of Aladja Community have just arrived at the scene to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
When contacted for comments, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, promised to confirm details from the nearest police division and assured that he would revert back.
