Maine man sentenced to 20 years in jail for ‘cult-like’ behavior

Wade Brayman was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being found guilty of gross sexual misconduct and aggravated assault last year.
Brayman allegedly sexually abused and controlled his victim using religion and other coercion tactics to “brainwash” them. The judge called this behavior cult-like.
The abuse allegedly happened between 2011 and 2017. Brayman was arrested in 2019.
The trial was delayed eight times before Brayman was found guilty in 2023.
