The clash, which occurred on Wednesday, reportedly started in Ozoro, the headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area, before escalating to Ughelli, resulting in deadly confrontations between the rival groups.

A violent cult clash between members of the Vikings Confraternity and Black Axe has claimed at least two lives and left several others seriously injured in the Ughelli area of Delta State.

The clash, which occurred on Wednesday, reportedly started in Ozoro, the headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area, before escalating to Ughelli, resulting in deadly confrontations between the rival groups.

The cause of the violence remains unclear, but the incident has created panic among residents in the affected areas.

Confirming the incident on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bright Edafe, stated that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the clash.

“The clash started from Ozoro and extended to Ughelli; two people have been confirmed dead so far. While two suspects have been arrested,” he said.
