Chinese Missionary Cult Trying to Lure Jews

“Jewish” content that has been circulating on social networks and WhatsApp is actually a ploy by a new missionary group to engage Jews in dialogue and convert them, Yad L’Achim has revealed.
Behind the deceptive content is a cult called the “Church of A-mighty G-d” that originated in China and has been trying to enter Israel. Yad L’Achim, which has been monitoring the cult’s activities for the past eight years and has so far been successful in preventing its infiltration into the country, warns that the cult’s goal is to disseminate what appear to be Torah lessons through which it can promulgate Christian teachings in the guise of Judaism.
Cult members believe that the Messiah is already alive, in the form of a Chinese woman living in New York. The cult, whose views are considered controversial in countries around the world where it operates, is beginning to make headway in Israel.
Yad L’Achim has data showing that the cult is flooding the Internet with materials that resemble Jewish religious content, including posts with pesukim, divrei Torah, and tefillos that are distributed on social media. When those exposed to the content give feedback to the messages or click on the links, they receive a personal invitation to attend a “Torah” class. The cult has no fewer than 26 active groups online, all under the guise of daily Torah studies, Tehillim recitations, and the like. Some even offer original prayers aimed at the traditional public in Israel.
Initially, the classes were indeed innocent Torah lectures delivered by such well-known figures as Rabbi Aharon Cohen. Regular participants are gradually transferred to follow-up, “advanced” groups, where the content focuses on missionary messages.
“This activity is quiet, sophisticated and dangerous,” explains a Yad L’Achim official. “The first stage creates a sense of comfort and connection to tradition, and only later are the missionary messages revealed.”
Behind the activity are a husband-wife team from Ma’ale Adumim, who previously belonged to the “Messianic Jews” cult; the husband even led one of their communities in Jerusalem. The two are mainly involved in creating personal connections and operating the online groups. They make direct contact only with people who have completed the first series of classes, and have been found by the group managers to be suitable for exposure to missionary content.
Yad L’Achim’s Digital Division has recently exposed and dismantled several of the cult’s active groups, while penetrating its distribution network. “We will not rest until we dismantle this entire system of deception,” Yad L’Achim activists stress. “We will continue to fight for the purity of Jewish identity, online and in every possible arena.”
Yad L’Achim calls on the public to be vigilant and report suspicious activities. “This is no longer a marginal sect, but a sophisticated campaign to infiltrate Jewish consciousness in Israel,” says a Yad L’Achim official. “We are working around the clock to expose the activity and halt its spread, as well as that of other missionary sects that are trying to gain a foothold in Israel.”
