Chad Daybell introduced his grieving children to his alleged lover Lori Vallow just one day before the funeral for his wife Tammy Daybell, the self-proclaimed prophet’s son-in-law testified at his triple murder trial in Idaho on Tuesday.
Joseph Murray, who is married to Daybell’s daughter, Emma Daybell Murray, said the meeting took place at the Daybell home – the same house where Tammy was found dead in October 2019 of what was later determined to be asphyxia. Murray said it was the only time he met Vallow.
Daybell, 55, is on trial for the deaths of Tammy, as well as Vallow’s children, Tylee Ryan, 16, and JJ Vallow, seven, who were found buried in his backyard in June 2020, nine months after they vanished.
Prosecutors say Daybell and Vallow, whom he married two weeks after Tammy died, justified the three killings by creating an apocalyptic belief system, which was part of an elaborate scheme to eliminate any obstacles from their life.
