MACON, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – An accused DeKalb County cult leader convicted of rape was injured in a prison fight this week.
The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) says Eligio Bishop was involved in an altercation at Macon State Prison on Wednesday. He was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and returned to the facility, GDC says.
Bishop was the leader of a polygamist group called “Carbon Nation” and claimed to be God. A former member said he raped her and posted nude photos of her online in revenge after she left, according to the attorney’s office.
