Holding Out HELP, a charitable organization whose mission is to offer help and hope for those who have decided to exit a polygamous lifestyle, held back-to-back fundraising dinners in Southern Utah in October.

The gala events, held in St. George and Cedar City, featured the theme “The Ripple Effect.”

Both nights featured essentially the same program, including a gala dinner, video presentations and a panel discussion centered on Holding Out HELP’s ongoing efforts to assist those who have exited polygamous communities or are planning to do so.

The acronym HELP in the organization’s name stands for “Helping, Encouraging and Loving Polygamists.”

Holding Out HELP founder and executive director Tonia Tewell noted the number of clients served by the organization annually has steadily risen over the past few years: 160 individuals in 2020, 203 in 2021, 269 in 2022, 325 in 2023 and 406 in 2025.

And, according to the latest figures shared on the Holding Out HELP website, a record number of 591 individuals have been helped so far in 2025.

Sam and Melissa Zitting, content creators known for their “Growing Up in Polygamy” podcast, served as the masters of ceremonies.
