John Boyega’s cousin faces deportation over cult church fraud

Tobi Adegboyega, cousin of Star Wars actor John Boyega, is facing deportation over fraud charges relating to the controversial SPAC Nation church.
SPAC Nation offered ‘safe houses’ to vulnerable people including ex gang members, but has been embroiled in scandal.
It was unable to account for nearly £2 million of its earnings, with much of its income not going through a proper bank account.
An immigration tribunal has ruled that Adegboyega, who was pastor of the church, must now return to his native Nigeria after funds were found to be misused.
Adgeboyega is married to a British woman and insists he will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
The Home Office told the court that SPAC Nation was an abusive institution.
“Former members of the church have alleged that it is a cult, in which impoverished young people are encouraged to do anything they can to donate money, including taking out large loans, committing benefit fraud and even selling their own blood,” the court heard.
“It is alleged that the church leadership lead lavish lifestyles and there have, it is said, been instances of abuse.”
Metro reported that Adgeboyega has been illegally overstaying a visitor’s visa to Britain since 2019.
