Conspiracy, She Wrote is a new podcast revealing women’s overlooked roles in conspiracy culture as architects, evangelisers, and symbols.

From pastel QAnon to royal pregnancy truthers to Taylor Swift psyops, the series uncovers how even the most absurd fictions have plenty of truths to tell us about what we choose or refuse to believe and why.

Hosted by podcaster, writer and professional womansplainer, Cristen Conger from Unladylike, who has been investigating conspiracy theories from a feminist angle.

Cristen says: “Conspiracy theories aren’t just fringe ideas; they reflect deeper societal anxieties and biases. Even absurd conspiracies like Beyonce’s “Illuminati mess” contain kernels of truth worth investigating.”

Season one starts at the very beginning when the fascist foremothers of modern conspiracism were “just asking questions” about deep state plots, elite cabals and shady secret societies a century ago.

From there, the show peels back the layers of the detective collectives within women’s spaces, interests and entertainment with experts like misogynoir scholar Moya Bailey, NPR music reporter and Louder Than a Riot host Sidney Madden and Conspiracy Chart creator Abbie Richards.

The first of the weekly episodes of Conspiracy, She Wrote is available on all podcast platforms from today, Thursday 8 August.
