DEBORAH BECKER: A cult-like group known as the Zizians is believed to be behind a string of violent deaths across the United States. On New Year’s Eve in 2022, Rita and Richard Zajko were shocked and killed in their home in suburban Philadelphia.
According to court documents, a Ring camera captured audio of what sounded like shouting of, Mom! Then, Oh my God. The couple’s daughter Michelle was questioned in the homicide, but never charged.
BECKER: Michelle is linked to the Zizians. She was later arrested with the founder of the group. Earlier in November of 2022 in California, a landlord named Curtis Lind was stabbed in the chest with a sword.
His friend, Patrick McMillan, told authorities that Lind was stabbed in a dispute over unpaid rent.
NEWS BRIEF: McMillan says his 80-year-old landlord had been brutally attacked by other tenants of the Vallejo property, who Lind was in the process of evicting because they hadn’t paid rent in years.
