MANILA – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) on Thursday said Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy was transferred back to the Pasig City Jail after weeks of hospitalization due to pneumonia.
In a statement, BJMP spokesperson Jail Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said the televangelist was first brought to the Rizal Memorial Center (RMC) on Jan. 18 after complaining of shortness of breath.
The religious leader was then transferred from RMC to The Medical City, a private hospital in Ortigas for further treatment.
Upon the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159’s order, Quiboloy was again transferred from The Medical City to Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH).
He was diagnosed with moderate-risk, community-acquired pneumonia and stage 2 hypertension at PCGH.
Bustinera said while confined at PCGH, the court granted Quiboloy permission on Feb. 7 to record a video for his senatorial campaign purposes.
Quiboloy is currently facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge. He is also accused of child and sexual abuse, along with five of his aides.
He was arrested in September last year at the church compound in Davao City after more than two weeks of operation. (PNA)
