Woman in ‘polygamous cult’ accused of killing daughter sobs as own mother takes stand

A woman who is on trial for the murder of her 13-month-old daughter sobbed in a Georgia courtroom as her own mother testified in the case Monday.
Chloe Alexis Driver, 24, cried and wiped tears off her face when her mother, Renee, took the stand. Chloe’s lips trembled while Renee spoke about their family, including Hannah Nicole Driver, who Chloe allegedly stabbed to death in 2020.
Driver’s trial started last week, with Chief Assistant District Attorney Katie Gropper saying Driver was part of a “polygamist group.” Gropper said Driver was married to Benyamin Ben Michael, also known as Brian Joyce or “Z.”
Gropper said Ben Michael had at least two other wives, with Ben Michael and Driver sharing a child: Hannah. The district attorney claimed Driver murdered their daughter because she wanted Ben Michael all to herself.
