‘Too much love to give’: Report finds Vineyard pastor abused women in two states

“You look so beautiful,” the pastor wrote his 26-year-old bookkeeper on a party napkin at a church wedding back in 2004.

At the time, Rachel thought he was just being a friend. She wanted to work at Christian Assembly, a charismatic congregation in the northern Virginia suburb of Vienna. The pastor, Denis Roy, then 34, was married with three young children and Rachel trusted him.

Then he’d start casually brushing up against her body, as if by accident, said Rachel, who spoke to The Roys Report (TRR) on the condition her last name be withheld.

In her off time, the pastor would call her so often that she changed his name to “dad” in her phone to keep her roommates from asking questions. He discouraged her from spending time with other friends, she later recalled. As the relationship began to take over her life, other members at Christian Assembly, which no longer exists, blamed her for the attention. Some labeled her a “seductress.”

And then one day, she said, Roy invited her into his office and told her to sit on his lap. He suddenly thrust his hands deep into the front of her pants and began to fondle her genitals.
