Tom Cruise allegedly has a complicated relationship with his three children, Isabella and Connor from his marriage to Nicole Kidman, and Suri, whom he shares with his second ex-wife Katie Holmes.

Cruise and Kidman exchanged vows in December 1990, and two years later, they welcomed Isabella into their family through adoption following the Big Little Lies star’s ectopic pregnancy. In 1995, they expanded their family by adopting Connor. However, their marriage came to an end in 2001.

Fast forward five years, the Top Gun actor married Katie Holmes. Their daughter, Suri, was welcomed in 2006, captivating the public’s curiosity from the moment of her birth. Suri’s early years were marked by widespread fascination, even gracing the cover of Vanity Fair in October of that year.

Holmes and Cruise parted ways in 2011, reportedly leaving a strained relationship between Cruise and his daughter.

Transcripts from a 2012 defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media revealed that following his split with Holmes, Cruise had not seen Suri for three months.

“Listen, when there is a divorce … things change,” he told lawyers at the time. “It’s not an ideal scene. It’s not an ideal situation.”

During the deposition, it came to light that the actor acknowledged the significant influence of his ties to Scientology in his decision not to see Suri.

When asked whether the pair split “in part to protect Suri from Scientology,” Tom responded, “That was one of the assertions, yes.”
