Prosecutors charge fake psychic in Chernivtsi after she defrauded woman of nearly 300000 UAH

In Chernivtsi, a fake clairvoyant was exposed who, through an Instagram page, extorted nearly 300,000 hryvnias from a woman.
The Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor’s Office announced this on its Facebook page.
Circumstances of the case
The fake clairvoyant acted under the cover of “esoteric services,” and according to the investigation, created an Instagram page where she presented herself as a “clairvoyant” and offered fortune-telling, tarot, and “relationship restoration” services. She convinced clients that she could bring back a loved one through rituals and cards.
A young woman responded to such an offer, hoping to restore her relationship with her former partner. The suspect assured her of a “guaranteed result,” but each time asked for additional funds – allegedly for conducting new rites and rituals. Over several months, the victim, while under a misapprehension, transferred almost 300,000 hryvnias.
But the promised result was never delivered to the victim, and the “clairvoyant” eventually stopped responding.
The authorities informed her of suspicion of fraud committed under martial law, which caused substantial harm to the victim (Part 3, Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The prosecutor’s office confirmed the suspicion and continues the investigation.
