Judge to decide if Alex Jones pays Sandy Hook families ‘realistic amount’ or ‘until the day he dies’

It’s up to a federal judge to decide whether the bankrupted Alex Jones should get a “fresh start” from the $1.5 billion he owes Sandy Hook families he defamed by paying them a “realistic amount” or whether he should be “punished for his actions until the day he dies.”
Jones’ bankruptcy attorneys are asking federal Judge Christopher Lopez to dismiss a request made by Sandy Hook families who were awarded defamation damages in Texas and Connecticut that would require Jones “to pay every cent” of the $1.5 billion he owes them.
“(The families) ask this court to deny Jones a trial on a judgment with damages so large that he could not repay them in 100 lifetimes,” write Jones’ attorneys in Southern Texas Bankruptcy Court. “(It’s the families’) opinion that (Jones) should be punished for his actions until the day he dies.”
