More shocking details are emerging following the arrest of 47-year-old psychologist Rajesh Dhoke in Nagpur, who has been accused of blackmailing and raping at least 50 women over the past 15 years.
Survivors are now coming forward to share their traumatic experiences, revealing the extent of the abuse that continued uninterrupted for over a decade.
Dhoke, a father of two, is accused of exploiting young girls under the pretext of providing counselling at residential camps. He had built his reputation through an association with another professional in the field, and his clinic in East Nagpur became well-known across neighbouring districts
The psychologist claimed to be a gold medallist in his field and used this to lure parents into sending their children to him for day-long sessions designed to improve their mental development and academic performance, The Times Of India reported.
“The psychologist charged hefty amounts for his courses, which often totalled to Rs 9 lakh annually,” a source told the publication.
The alleged abuse took place under the guise of therapeutic activities, with victims describing inappropriate physical contact under the pretext of offering treatments such as “acupressure.”
The psychologist is said to have manipulated the victims, offering promises of improved academic and personal development, while exploiting their trust.
