DRAPER, Utah (KUTV) — Parents who have left the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are searching for their missing children, who they believe may be hidden by others still in the church.
The ex-FLDS members said the FLDS prophet Warren Jeffs, who is serving a life sentence in a Texas prison, is giving his followers revelations from his cell through his son, Helaman Jeffs.
One of the revelations directs his followers to return the children to the church by any means necessary.
Ten families who have left the church are asking for the public’s help to locate their missing children, who they believe may be in danger within the church.
“Now I am standing here in front of the world, because I need to believe that you’re watching and waiting for me,” said Sarah Johnson, whose son has been missing since 2021. “I love you, son. It’s never too late to call me. I will always be here.”
Her son, Salome, went missing after she left the FLDS church.
Johnson said she fought for her children when she left, gaining legal custody of all of them — including Salome.
