‘Cult Mom’ Lori Vallow Daybell Gets New Attorney in Bid to Appeal Triple Life Sentence For Murdering Her Children

Lori Vallow Daybell has a new attorney as she seeks to appeal the three life sentences she received for murdering her two youngest children as part of a doomsday delusion.
Vallow Daybell, 50, parted ways last month with lawyer John Thomas, who served as co-counsel during the Idaho trial that ended with her conviction in May, according to court filings dated Thursday.
The Idaho State Appellate Public Defender’s office, meanwhile, announced earlier this month that Vallow Daybell’s appeal had been assigned to the law firm of Ferguson Durham, PLLC, according to local outlets including KIFI.
The reports do not identify a specific attorney at the firm assigned to the case, nor do they make clear whether Jim Archibald, who served as co-counsel alongside Thomas, was still part of Vallow Daybell’s team.
