Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been charged in the UK with rape, human trafficking, and other offences, British prosecutors said on Wednesday.
The Crown Prosecution Service stated that a European arrest warrant had been issued last year, and Romanian courts have now approved their extradition to the UK.
Andrew Tate, 38, is charged with rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution related to three women. Tristan Tate, 36, faces similar charges involving one woman.
The US-UK dual citizens were arrested in Romania in late 2022 and are already under indictment there for allegedly operating a trafficking ring that lured and exploited women. Both deny all allegations.
Four British women have filed a civil lawsuit against Andrew Tate, alleging sexual violence, rape, and coercive control between 2013 and 2015 in Luton and Hitchin.
As reported by The New York Times, Andrew Tate faces 10 charges, including rape, assault causing actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain. His brother Tristan faces 11 charges, also including rape and human trafficking.
The charges were authorized in January 2024, and European Arrest Warrants were issued soon after.
