Actress Leah Remini Gets New Judge in Harassment Suit vs. Scientology

Actress Leah Remini has a new judge who will hear motions in the lawsuit brought by a longtime critic of Scientology, who alleges she has been stalked and harassed since leaving the faith in 2013.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge William Fahey stepped down from the case Friday after Remini’s attorneys filed court papers asking for his removal on grounds he is allegedly prejudiced. Judge Barbara Scheper will now preside over the case, and the previously scheduled Nov. 30 case management conference in front of Fahey has been canceled.
