DPP closes Shakahola case against Mackenzie, 96 others after witnesses detail decade of religious radicalisation
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has formally closed the prosecution case against controversial Pastor Paul Mackenzie and 96 co-accused, bringing to an end a detailed trial phase that exposed a decade-long system of religious radicalisation linked to the deaths at Shakahola forest.”
The court will now hear closing submissions to determine whether the accused have a case to answer in what prosecutors described as one of Kenya’s most meticulously investigated criminal trials.
