The Police in the Lake Zone City of Mwanza, in Tanzania, have once more apprehended ‘King Zumaridi,’ a lady who is a self-declared ‘God!’
Lady God Zumaridi, whose real names are Diana Edward Bundala, aged 42, was arrested at her residence located along Buguku Street in the Buhongwa ward of Nyamagana District of Mwanza.
Zumaridi, one of the many prophets dotting the Tanzanian landscape, usually prefers to be addressed as ‘King,’ not ‘Queen’ but her multitude of followers believes the lady is a God, who wields mystic powers, capable of manifesting astounding miracles.
But the alleged supernatural powers could not prevent the cops from accessing Zumaridi, bundling the ‘God,’ onto their truck and speeding with her to the nearest police station where she is being held in custody.
According to the police statement released after her arrest, Zumaridi was running a large religious sect without permit and together with her many followers, used to produce a lot of noise through loudspeakers perched in residential areas and disturbing the peace.
Apparently, Lady Diana had converted her house into some sort of a church, or sect temple in which hundreds of people gathered daily, to sing, dance, pray and worship as well as undergoing exorcising ordeals.
The Police statement claims further that Mfalme (King) Zumaridi had recruited very young children, creating a squad of boys and girls who would sing her praises.
“Diana taught the youngsters that she was God and they believed her,” the police maintained, adding that some of these children were supposed to be in school but instead spent time at ‘King Zumaridi’s’ domestic temple.
This is the second time that the police are apprehending the ‘God,’ of Mwanza, much to the disappointment of her faithful congregation who usually vow that she was invincible.
Diana Bundala also happens to be a wealthy individual, riding in a convoy of the latest SUV vehicle and walking on red carpet whenever she arrives at her home which also doubles as church, as specially trained female soldiers accorded her military respect.
Now the cops are still investigating her case and once the probe is over, ‘God’ may be arraigned in the human court.
