₹199 work-from-home scam busted: Hyderabad police arrest MLM executive in ₹3 Cr fraud

Hyderabad: The Mirchowk police have arrested a senior executive of a multi-level marketing firm for allegedly orchestrating a ₹3 crore fraud by luring people with ₹199 “work-from-home” offers and misleading luxury lifestyle promotions on social media.
Accused identified
The arrested person has been identified as Harish Kumar Singla (61), a Country Sales Manager with Forever Living Imports (India) Pvt Ltd., and a resident of Gurugram, Haryana. Police said he played a key role in designing and expanding the alleged money circulation network.
Modus Operandi
According to investigators, the accused and his associates ran a digital marketing scheme that primarily focused on enrolling new members rather than selling products. Individuals were asked to pay registration fees ranging from ₹199 to ₹249 for training sessions and entry into the network.
Participants were then encouraged to recruit more members under structured plans such as Slow Track (ST), Medium Track (MT), and Fast Track (FT), with promises of higher returns based on recruitment.

Social media as bait
Police said the network relied heavily on social media platforms to attract victims. Promotional videos showcasing luxury cars, high-end lifestyles, and financial success were circulated to create aspiration and lure unsuspecting individuals.
Youth in the 18–24 age group and homemakers were particularly targeted with promises of flexible work-from-home opportunities and quick earnings.
Cases registered across city
Based on complaints from victims, three FIRs have been registered at Mirchowk, Rein Bazar, and Madannapet police stations. Earlier, three local agents associated with the network were also arrested from an office at Karmanghat.
Seizures and financial probe
During the investigation, police seized electronic gadgets including mobile phones, an iPad, and a MacBook, along with documents, training materials, and digital data used to reach potential victims. A Mercedes-Benz car linked to the accused was also seized.
Officials said bank accounts connected to the accused, containing approximately ₹3 crore, have been frozen.
More arrests likely
Police stated that several other persons involved in the racket are absconding and efforts are underway to apprehend them. The investigation is continuing to trace the full extent of the network.
Public Advisory
Authorities have cautioned the public against falling for schemes promising quick and easy money. They warned that such operations often function as illegal money circulation rackets, where earnings depend on recruitment rather than legitimate business activity.
Citizens have been advised to verify the authenticity of such offers and report suspicious schemes to the nearest police station.
